"Of the five ... travel scripts ordinarily attributed to Edward (Ned) Ward ... the two earlier ones are undoubtedly genuine ... A trip to Holland and A trip to Ireland ... though usually ascribed to Ward (D.N.B.) ... were probably not written by him ... It is even less likely that A trip to North-Wales ... belongs to Ward ... [It] contains a dedicatory epistle signed E. B. ... [and] it is not impossible that the E. B. stands for Edward Bysshe ... author of the Art of poetry."--Bibliographical note. The
