On the authority of Wood's Fasti oxonienses it was ascribed to William Stafford and several times printed under his name, but is more probably by John Hales. cf. Introd.
First printed in 1581 under title: A comendious or briefe examination of certayne ordinary complaints, of diuers of our country men ... By W.S. Gentleman.
The work was completed, after the death of Miss Lamond, by William Cunningham.
