During World War II, numerous Ukrainian Nazi collaborators, both members of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and members of the Ukrainian auxiliary police, took part in the murder of Jews. Aggressive antisemitism was part and parcel of OUN's ideology. Stresses that the OUN and Ukrainian police also killed, with no less brutality, Ukrainians who had the courage not to comply with them. After the war, many Ukrainian war criminals found shelter in the USA and elsewhere in the West. Dwells on wartime events in Lvov, including the Yanovsky camp, and other places. Includes two eyewitness testimonies, by Falek Weiser, a survivor from Lvov, and by Sofia Odvak-Plyusnina, a survivor from Pochayiv (Ternopil region), and some other eyewitness accounts. Presents numerous documents, both Ukrainian and German, as well as photographs.
