Edited by Defontaines, whose collaborators are said to have included Jacques Adam, Charles Lebeau, Nicolas Leduc, J. B. Le Mascrier, Georgeon (who wrote the preface) and Fabre (table of contents). According to Harrisse, the translation was a revision of the partial translation by Pierre Du Ryer (Paris, 1657. 3 v.), its unpublished continuation by Du Pont and others, and the translation of v. 1 and several books of the last volume by Prévost. Prévost's translation of v. 1 was published at the Hague in
