"'The civil war in France' was written ... in 1871 ... and issued during the same year in London by E. Truelong. It was reprinted in 'Revolution 1789-1796', by R. W. Pogogate; the present edition is printed from stereos of that book by permission of the author. The two manifestoes which precede 'The Civil war in France' were issued in 1870 by the General council of the International. This is the first time they have been reprinted in England."
