Note

Eliza Blaker established thirteen kindergartens in Indiana. She believed that all children were equal and had a right to an education. Blaker also founded the Teachers College of Indianapolis, which instructed kindergarten teachers. Later, this school became affiliated with Butler University and is now part of the College of Education at Butler University.
