The Boston Finance Commission, authorized by the City Council and appointed by the Mayor in 1907, continued in office until 1909, and was succeeded by the Finance Commission of the City of Boston, appointed in 1909 by the Governor of Massachusetts, as required by Chapter 486 of the Acts of 1909. The second Commission has authority to investigate the finances of Suffolk County.
Vol. 5 begins the Reports of the second Commission.
Parts 1 and 2 of vol 5 (communications only), are also published under the title: Annual report, 1st ... 1910.
Vol. 6-<10> are also published under the title: Annual report, 2d-<6th> ... 1910/11-<14/15>.
