Layout: Written in 23 and 24 lines per page ; frame-ruled. Script: Maghribī ; two main hands ; hand supplying opening work quite neat and uniform, exhibiting little deviation from the vertical and adhering closely to the baseline, with characteristic sweeping descenders, etc. ; hand supplying second work less uniform, occasional tilt to the right or left, etc. ; opening leaf of second work seemingly supplied in a different hand. Decoration: Keywords and section headings rubricated ; written area of incipit and facing page of opening work surrounded by red rule-border. Support: European laid paper ; mainly with 9 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 25 mm. apart (horizontal), and three crescents watermark (88 mm. long, perpendicular to chains, see p.14, 26, 34, 35, etc.), sturdy and well-burnished ; another type with 6-7 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 31 mm. apart (horizontal), and three crescents watermark (82 mm. long, perpendicular to chains, see p.108, etc.), sturdy and somewhat thick, burnished. Binding: Pasteboards covered in block-printed paper (rows of interlaced curves in red, studded with aquamarine accents in dots and strokes, all on a bright orange ground) with brown leather over spine, fore edge flap, and edges/turn-ins (framed binding) ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in untinted paper ; tooled accents on fore edge flap ; sewn in cream thread, two stations ; worked chevron endbands in mauve and cream, good condition ; text block trimmed around marginalia ; overall in fair condition with some abrasion, staining, cover detaching at spine, etc. Former shelfmark: From inner front cover and spine label, "IL 378" (likely supplied by Yahuda, see acquisitions slip).
