Incipit: "الحمد لله رب العالمين والصلاة والسلام على سيدنا محمد وعلى اله وصحبه اجمعين وبعد فيقول افقر الورى واقل الخدم ... مصطفى بن كمال الدين بن علي الصديقي الخلوتي غفر الله له كل زله ... اعلم ايها الطالب المريد وفقك الله لطلب المزيد ان من اللازم عليك بعد اخذ الطريق ان كنت ممن اخذه للسير والسلوك في منهل اهل التحقيق لا للتبرك والالتماس كما عليه كثير من الناس معرفة ما لا بد منه من صلوات الطريق واوراده ... احببت ان اشرح في هذه الكراسة بعض ما هنالك ليبني عليها الطالب اساسه وسميتها المنهل العذب السائغ لوراده في ذكر صلوات الطريق واوراده ..."

Collation: 5 V(50) ; exclusively quinions ; final five leaves left blank ; catchwords present ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (includes inserts).
Layout: Written in 17 lines per page ; frame-ruled.
Script: Naskh ; clear Turkish or 'Syrian' hand in a medium line ; partially but irregularly seriffed with right-sloping head-serif on occasional free-standing alif and shaqq of kāf, slight effect of tilt to the left and of words descending to baseline, mainly closed counters, rounded with curvilinear descenders, freely ligatured, kāf mashqūqah preferred with shaqq often sweeping up dramatically (and seriffed), pointing in strokes rather than distinct dots (alif maqṣūrah pointed as yāʼ), occasional elongation of horizontal strokes.
Support: European laid paper with 7-8 laid lines per cm. (horizontal), chain lines spaced 26-27 mm. apart (vertical), and three crescents watermark (65 mm. long, perpendicular to chains, see p.8, etc.) ; sturdy and thick ; very lightly burnished if so.
Binding: Pasteboards covered in a decorative paper (blue flecked with orange, red, white, etc.) with brown leather over spine and fore edge flap ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in untinted laid paper ; sewn in cream thread, two stations ; worked chevron endbands in dark pink or light brown, fair condition ; overall in fair condition with minor abrasion and staining.
Former shelfmark: From inner front cover and label on lower cover, "IL 374" (likely supplied by Yahuda, see acquisitions slip).
Accompanying materials: a. Inventory cataloguing slip in hand of Winifred Smeaton Thomas. (pp.1-2)-- b. Acquisitions slip from Yahuda. (pp.3-4).
Origin: Lacks dated colophon ; perhaps mid to late 18th century.
Reading/study notice on 'title page' (p.5) in name of al-Sayyid Abū Bakr al-Zuʻbī al-Jīlānī reads "نظر فيه وتأمل معانيه الفقير الفاني السيد ابو بكر الزعبي الجيلاني غفر الله له ولوالديه وللمسلمين اجمعين ولمن قرأ له الفاتحة امين م" ; occasional marginal corrections.
